This birdbath is made totally of metal and is much sturdier than I expected, AND it just happens to be gorgeous!!
Assembly is easy...just one nut to attach the stem to the basin. Then the bottom of the stem and the base have theads that scew together. Place it, fill it, and enjoy the avian "splash party!" There is even a spare nut in case of a nut is stripped, damaged, or goes missing? Purposeful bird-watching at its best.

 Light weight (I'm adding a few rocks for stability and as perches), easy to assemble. They recommend applying a clear coat for protection. About 5 inches deep at center. I added a floating solar fountain. Love the color.

Had to add sand to the base (a tricky task as there is a central hole in the base for assembly) to weigh it down. It's tall and skinny and once it's filled with water becomes very top heavy. Adding sand to the base gave it a bit of weight balance.
It's pretty, but this is hollow cast iron - don't think of the old style lawn ornaments and furniture that were wrought or heavy. It also has sharp edges on the stem of the stand so be careful!
It's very pretty - really nice looking. But it will rust quickly.

The color gets a 5 out of 5 - it has a nice, distressed look. However, the fountain is made out of thin, lightweight aluminum and you'll be lucky if it lasts a couple of seasons before it starts to rust. It would also be good if the base was hollow so it could be filled with sand or gravel to provide stability and keep it from blowing over in the wind. The basin is too deep for most birds to bathe in, so I put some rocks in it. At most, I would've paid about $59.99 for this fountain in a big box store.

Lightweight and a snap to assemble. The blue brightens up the garden as there are very few truly blue flowers. Paired with yellow annuals it makes a nice combination. I did add a brick in the bowl for the birdies because it’s quite deep. They love it. So do I!
